The everyday guide
Jewellery Care

We believe jewellery belongs in your everyday. The pieces you reach for, feel good in and make your own. A few small habits will help keep them looking their best, wherever the day takes you.
Five simple ways to care for your jewellery
Jewellery goes on last.
Let perfume, sunscreen and skincare dry before putting your pieces on.
Give each piece a gentle wipe.
A soft, dry cloth helps remove the day’s residue. For gold-plated and rhodium-finished jewellery, avoid abrasive polishing cloths, silver dips and vigorous rubbing.
Keep it somewhere soft and dry.
Store pieces separately in a soft pouch or lined jewellery box to help prevent scratches and tangles.
Take a break when needed.
Remove jewellery during activities that involve heavy rubbing, pressure or knocks. Keep it away from household cleaners and harsh chemicals.
Dry it before putting it away.
If your jewellery gets wet, gently pat it dry and allow it to dry fully before storing.
Can I wear my jewellery in water?
Real life includes the occasional splash. If it happens, gently dry your piece afterwards.
For the longest-lasting finish, we recommend removing jewellery before swimming or showering. Repeated exposure to salt water, chlorine and soaps can affect metals and finishes. Our pieces aren’t sold as waterproof, so use your judgement with an understanding of their materials.
How gold plating changes with wear
Gold plating gives a piece its warm gold finish. Over time, friction can gradually wear that layer, revealing the metal beneath. How quickly this happens varies with wear, skin chemistry, perspiration and contact with products.
Fading is different from tarnish, which is a change in the metal’s surface colour.

A little extra care for toe rings
For the part of you that’s always barefoot, somewhere by the sea.
Toe rings encounter more rubbing from shoes, sand and everyday movement, so their gold finish may wear sooner than an earring’s. A gentle wipe after wearing, dry storage and a break from rubbing footwear can help preserve it.
Silver finishes and stones
Sterling silver can tarnish over time. Our silver-coloured pieces have a rhodium finish, which helps resist tarnishing but can also wear with friction. The Marina necklace has a silver-plated brass base rather than solid sterling silver.
Treat stone-set pieces gently and protect them from knocks. Avoid steam and ultrasonic cleaning unless a jewellery professional confirms they’re suitable for the whole piece.
